Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded Larry Corsa 'Peter Green' LCPG-28 Mod - '60s Neck, Honeyburst (2007)

This is an extremely special guitar for a few reasons:
1. 2007 Standard Faded Les Paul's are extremely well renowed for their unreal feel, tone and resonance and increasingly rare (Google it!).
2. This is an early Larry Corsa Peter Green 'Greeny' replica. Unbelievably rare. Superior to the Gibson Greeny editions for many reasons.
3. Famous former owner. Imported to UK by Edison Lighthouse founding member.

For sale is an exceptional 2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded in Honeyburst, professionally converted by Larry Corsa to his Peter Green LCPG specification – LCPG-28. Original hard shell Gibson case in fantastic conditition with factory tags. Original Larry Corsa paperwork included.

This is a particularly clean example of the original 2005–08 Les Paul Standard Faded series and weighs an extremely lightweight 7.8 lb.

The Standard Faded:
The original Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded has developed a considerable following among Les Paul players. Rather than the heavier polished finish of a conventional Standard, Gibson used a very thin hand-rubbed satin finish which gives these guitars their distinctive appearance and extremely lively acoustic character. The 2007 models feature Gibson's chambered mahogany construction with a carved maple top, making good examples remarkably light and resonant. Larry Corsa became a notable advocate of these particular Gibsons and used Standard Fadeds as the foundation for his now well-known LCPG Peter Green conversions.

Larry Corsa LCPG-28:
This guitar is LCPG-28, an early-numbered Larry Corsa Peter Green conversion. Corsa's LCPG concept was developed to capture the character and, in particular, the extraordinary middle-position sound of Peter Green's famous 1959 Les Paul – subsequently played for many years by Gary Moore and now owned by Kirk Hammett. The modifications are extensive (see photo spec sheet). The result is the characteristic Peter Green out-of-phase middle-position tone: hollow, vocal and almost single-coil-like in places, while retaining the power and warmth expected from a great Les Paul. The conversion makes this a much more interesting proposition than simply installing an aftermarket set of pickups in a Standard: it is an example of the original Corsa LCPG programme based around the Gibson Standard Faded guitars he particularly favoured.

Condition:
The guitar is in exceptional, almost pristine condition for a 2007 instrument. It has never been gigged and has been very carefully looked after, with remarkably little evidence of use. The thin Standard Faded finish means these guitars normally show playing wear very readily, which makes the condition of this example particularly noteworthy.

Highly resonant and lively both acoustically and amplified It is increasingly difficult to find clean examples of the original Standard Faded, and considerably harder to find genuine Larry Corsa-converted examples – particularly one this light and in this condition.
