This is a Yamaha YFL-481 flute I have owned since the early 1990s — I suspect based on the serial number (013809) it was produced earlier. Japanese made by Yamaha.
Key features:
- Sterling silver head and body, silver-plated mechanism
- French, open hole design
- B foot style
- Original case and body swab; original swab stick that came w/case is not included
It was a doubling instrument to my primary (sax) so not used as frequently but it always played well, with good intonation and response. Pads have not been changed so likely original. Lacquer is original and intact aside from tarnish near the right hand mechanism and foot, visible in the pictures included.
