The Peavey V4X is an analog electronic crossover utilizing three third-order, state-variable filters to generate four independent outputs. It supports flexible 2-way, 3-way, or 4-way system configurations with independent level controls (featuring pull-to-mute) and frequency adjustments for each band. The unit includes built-in protection filters, specifically a switchable 40 Hz low-frequency rolloff to reduce sub-bass rumble and a fixed 20 kHz high-frequency rolloff to prevent ultrasonic distortion in tweeters. 

The crossover frequency ranges are adjustable across three bands: Low-to-Mid spans 20 Hz to 400 Hz, Mid-to-High covers 100 Hz to 2 kHz, and High-to-Very High ranges from 1 kHz to 20 kHz.  Connectivity is provided via electronically balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs, capable of handling +24 dBV input levels. The unit also features a system gain switch for optimal interfacing with various mixer output levels.
