RARE: Zildjian K Splash signed by Avedis zildjian 1930s - 1940s

Rare 1930s–1940s Avedis Zildjian Splash Cymbal – Hand-Signed by Avedis Zildjian

A very rare piece of early Zildjian history.

This cymbal was a barn find!

This is a pre-1950 Avedis Zildjian splash cymbal, believed to have been made between 1930 and 1940. Most importantly, it is personally signed by Avedis Zildjian.

I contacted Zildjian directly to learn more about the cymbal and confirm its authenticity. Their R&D department examined photographs and confirmed that:

• The cymbal is definitely pre-1950
• The handwritten signature is Avedis Zildjian’s own signature
• The signature was most likely added between 1930 and 1940
• Their best estimate is that the cymbal itself was made between 1930 and 1940

Zildjian described it as a “special cymbal” and also provided a photograph of another cymbal signed by Avedis at the factory for comparison.

The cymbal has the patina, markings and signs of use you would expect from an instrument approaching 90 years old. Please see the photographs for its exact condition.
