It must be the classic look and feel of yesteryear coupled with smooth, modern appointments that make C&C drums so warm and inviting. They are simply addicting to play.
This kit in particular is pretty unique; with it's 6 lug 22x12 Gladstone bass drum (Maple) and 13"/16" 12th & Vine toms (Mahogany/ Poplar), it really caters to both studio and live environments.
12th & Vine:

The Gladstone series features 7 plies of North American Rock Maple, our single-ended Deco Lug, and proprietary Bread and Butter bearing edges. This edge allows full, open, resonant tone. It also promotes more body than what is typical of a modern maple shell, making for a versatile sound."
