Vintage Girardin MT-67 Germanium/Silicon Broadcast Mixing Console

This is an increasingly rare, high quality suitcase mixer from 1960’s France. Two of the six preamps are under the radar germanium pre’s that rival classic Neve’s. 4 are silicon transistor with a similar quality but offer a bit more of a transparent sound. The discrete topology lends itself to warmth and chewy saturation, it is also incredibly high gain. Each of the 6 channels feature a pad (line/mic) a stepped bass roll-off and a 2-way stepped treble/mid control. Rotated to the left, various mid frequencies are boost/ cut. When rotated to the right, the control boosts high frequencies.

This is a 6:1 mixer offering a mono master out. There is also a “reprise” output, which functions as an auxiliary output for each channel. There is also a built in oscillator and headphone jack. Channel 1 has a post fader reprise, all other channels are pre.

The character is incredibly satsifting. It has served as the nucleus of my home studio for nearly a decade.
Unfortunately, when it was shipped to me from France it did suffer some cosmetic damage. The top panel is a bit bent in the corners and one of the suitcase latches is missing. Despite these cosmetic blemishes, the mixer is fully functional and sounds incredible. Occasionally there will be static in a channel and this has always been remedied by reseating the channel strip, held in place with 2 screws.
