The Volca Bass is a small, all-analog bass synthesizer, particularly renowned for its fat, warm, and aggressive sounds, especially acid and techno basses. It features three VCOs, a 12 dB/octave analog low-pass filter with resonance, an LFO, and an envelope, allowing you to create very thick basses or more percussive and aggressive sounds. Its 16-step/3-part sequencer allows you to create fairly complex lines, with Slide for the typical acid slides and Active Step for modifying patterns in real time. It has MIDI In and Sync In/Out, runs on six AA batteries, and weighs only 370 g. Its main strength remains its analog nature and its excellent size-to-sound ratio: a very simple little machine, but capable of producing truly massive basses.
