Schoeps CMXY Reverb Description

The Schoeps CMXY 4Vg is a compact and versatile x/y stereo microphone with two matched cardioid capsules and lateral pickup.  It is both elegant and unobtrusive. Its mild high-frequency boost increases speech intelligibility and compensates for HF losses typical of moderate recording distances. It thus lends itself ideally to music recording, TV and broadcast use, on a table for presenters, boom operation, or use as a stereo spot microphone.

The microphone comes with its original Schoeps Certificate of Matching, dated 20 December 2007, confirming that the two capsules (serial numbers 15118 and 15121) were specifically selected as a matched pair for frequency response and sensitivity.  These numbers are out of sight on the bases of the capsules, while the engraving on the microphone body(No. 0357) refers to the complete microphone.

This microphone was purchased new from the UK Schoeps agent and has been carefully owned and lightly used on a number of interesting feature films including Love and Mercy, where it was used for live recording sessions.

The microphone is fully functional and has no known faults.
