Handmade Traditional Indian Naal Drum - Dark Brown with Hand-Painted Decoration

Large traditional Indian Naal / Nal double-headed percussion instrument, originally ordered directly from India by the previous owner.

This is a substantial full-size instrument measuring approximately 24.5" long, with an approximately 11" larger end and 7.5" smaller end. The drum weighs approximately 15 lb. 15 oz. in its soft carrying case.

The tapered wooden shell features decorative painted bands, metal tuning hardware and individual nut-and-bolt tension adjustment. The smaller treble head features the traditional black syahi loading associated with the characteristic Naal sound.

Most importantly, this instrument has been sound tested by a musician. Both heads respond properly and the drum produces a strong, clear tone with excellent resonance.
