A beautiful Japanese-made Gretsch G6122-1962 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, finished in classic Walnut Stain and loaded with all of the unmistakable appointments that make the ‘62-style Country Gentleman one of Gretsch’s most iconic hollowbody guitars.
Built in May 2012, this Professional Collection-era example captures the classic double-cutaway Country Gentleman formula with its large laminated-maple hollow body, ebony fingerboard, Filter’Tron pickups, gold hardware, Bigsby vibrato and wonderfully over-the-top dual mute system.
The Country Gentleman has an incredible history in its own right, originating as one of Chet Atkins’ signature Gretsch designs and becoming especially famous through George Harrison’s use of a double-cut Country Gentleman during the early Beatles era.

Condition:
Overall, this guitar is in very good condition, especially for a 14-year-old instrument. It presents beautifully and has clearly been well cared for. There are a handful of small, faint nicks, dings and light signs of normal handling/play wear in the finish, including a small mark along the body binding, as shown clearly in the photos. The gold hardware also shows some of the light patina/tarnishing expected with age and use.
Importantly, the frets have tons of life remaining, and the guitar is currently set up nicely and playing great. The neck and fingerboard look particularly clean.
The original Gretsch hardshell case is included and is a major plus.
A gorgeous Japanese-built Country Gentleman with the right vintage-inspired appointments, an iconic look and one of the coolest control layouts Gretsch ever put on a guitar. Between the Walnut Stain, gold hardware, double mutes, padded back and Bigsby, there isn’t much else that looks—or feels—quite like one.
Please review all photos carefully for an accurate representation of cosmetic condition.
