Zildjian's Gen16 was an innovative hybrid acoustic-electric cymbal system that featured perforated bronze cymbals that reduce volume by 40% to 70%. Initially released in the early 2010s and later discontinued around 2015, the system used specialized direct-source optical/microphone pickups and a Digital Cymbal Processor (DCP) instead of standard triggers!
