The Valve Force sampling groovebox.
The ESX-1 remains one of the best-loved boxes Korg ever made, and the reason is the tubes. Two real vacuum tubes in the output stage give it a saturation and presence that no plugin quite nails and no later Electribe reproduced. Push the Valve Force and drums get thick and forward; back it off and it stays clean and punchy.
Beyond the tubes: 16-bit sampling (one-shot, pitched, stretched, sliced), 16-voice polyphony, 256 patterns, 64 songs, motion sequencing, ribbon controller, arpeggiator, three FX processors, and a four-mode filter. There's a dedicated audio-in track so you can run external sources through the filters, effects, and tube stage. MIDI In/Out/Thru for sequencing the rest of your rig, plus assignable 3/4 outs for stems or an FX loop.
It's an immediate, hands-on machine: build a pattern in a minute, mangle it in the next. Equally at home as a studio sketchpad or the center of a live set.
