Here is a 2008 Gibson Slash Signature Les Paul Standard in Antique Vintage Sunburst finish. Includes the original hardshell case, CoA and truss rod tool. This guitar was part of the first USA (non-Custom Shop) production run of Slash signature Les Pauls, limited to 1600, which were inspired by Slash's 1987 Les Paul Standard "Jessica". The top on this one is quite nice, with a fair amount of figuring that is active and 3-D in person. It has a very comfortable neck, which is closer to a SlimTaper profile than a '50s profile. It starts out on the slim side, but gradually tapers to a medium-C shape. The actual feel in the hand is a bit more full and substantial than what the measurements would suggest (.82" - .91" at the 1st and 12th frets). The Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups not only sound fantastic, but really add to the aesthetic of this guitar as well! They have moderate output; not too hot, but a bit more aggression than low output, true PAF-style pickups. The bridge and neck are nicely balanced with each other, without a large disparity in volume when switching between the two. They sound punchy and direct, with nice clarity both clean and overdriven. This guitar plays great, and is dialed in with '10s for comfortable, low-medium action. There is ample room for adjustment should you want or need to tweak the setup to your liking.
Here are the highlights:
- Original hardshell case w/ Slash logo, CoA/checklist + truss rod tool included.
- 100% original, very clean condition.
- 1 of 1600 produced in Antique Vintage Sunburst finish.
- 9.25 lb.
- Medium-C neck profile, w/ depth measurements of .82" and .91" @ the 1st and 12th fret.
- Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro unpotted pickups. Vol x2, Tone x2, 3-way pickup selector switch.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition, showing some very light signs of general use. The frets show just a bit of very light wear, but no divots, and the crowns are still in great shape. As for the rest of the guitar, there are some ultra-light surface scuffs and micro-scratches, all of which you really have to be looking for to notice. I included a few photos (scroll to the end) to highlight what I thought were the most visible, but still, they're nearly imperceptible unless you angle the guitar just right in direct light to reveal them. One corner of the output jack plate, and one corner of the control cavity cover both have hairline cracks (that are, like the aforementioned surface scratches, hardly visible). This is simply due to pressure exerted by the screws from being slightly overtightened, which is not too uncommon, and doesn't take much! It doesn't affect their functionality, and is purely cosmetic.
All in all, a fantastic sounding, collectible Les Paul that has been very well taken care of.
*Note - Upon receiving the guitar, please let it acclimate to room temperature before opening the case and removing it. It's especially important with nitro-finished guitars to prevent lacquer checking/cracking. As always, when a guitar is being shipped to an area with a different climate, it's best to let it settle in for a few days before having any necessary setup adjustments made (if any) by a competent tech to fit your personal preference.
Please message me with any questions or concerns before submitting offers and/or payment and I will be happy to help.
