Yamaha YAS-23 Alto Saxophone – Excellent Condition, Recently Serviced, Priced to Sell, Ready to Play

Here’s a solid Yamaha YAS-23 alto that’s in excellent shape and ready to go. It just came back from a professional service and is playing really well. The sound is warm and full with a nice centered core that still has good projection when you dig in. Intonation is solid up and down the horn, the keys are all regulated properly, the pads are seating evenly with no air leaks, and the springs feel quick and responsive under the fingers. It just feels easy to play.

The action is light and even without any sponginess, and the horn responds cleanly whether you’re playing soft or putting more air through it. There’s a nice balance through the registers so nothing feels uneven or awkward when you’re moving around. These older Yamaha student altos have a long track record for a reason. They’re reliable, they hold up well over time, and a lot of players end up using them longer than they originally planned because they simply work day after day without giving you problems.

It includes three brand new Vandoren reeds so you can start playing right away. The case shows a little wear where a small section of the covering is starting to peel, but roughly 95 percent of it is still solid and the case itself still closes securely and protects the instrument the way it should. Nothing about the case wear affects how well it does its job.
