The Xaoc Devices Skopje is a compact 6HP dual-channel quantiser designed to transform control voltages into precise musical pitches. With two completely independent quantisers, high-precision A/D and D/A converters, and extensive support for alternative tuning systems, Skopje is equally suited to traditional tonal sequencing, experimental composition, and microtonal exploration.
Each channel can independently quantise incoming voltages to a different scale from separate scale banks, allowing multiple melodic lines to be generated simultaneously. Scale data is stored on a standard microSD card, supporting both Skopje's simple text-based format and the widely used SCALA format. Up to 100 banks can be stored, each containing up to 100 scales, making it easy to organise everything from conventional Western scales to complex microtonal tunings.
Despite its powerful capabilities, Skopje remains fast and intuitive to use. The OLED display is dedicated to bank and scale selection, while clearly labelled front-panel controls provide immediate access to all performance functions without menu diving. Additional features including per-channel VCO calibration, glide, trigger or CV-controlled scale switching, and transposition make Skopje a highly flexible compositional tool for any Eurorack system.
