Includes pedal, new battery, original warranty card and manual

The Bixonic Expandora is a distortion pedal, known for the wide range and quality of warm sounds.  It was used by a number of famous bands from Joe Satriani to Megadeath, but was made popular by Billy Gibbons  (ZZ Top).  Billy Gibbons used 6 of these pedals in series on stage as part of his signature sound rack. The reality is that you need more than a fuzz box to get that Billy Gibbons sound.  Much of it is technique.  But this is one of the best, or at least the most versatile distortion pedals out there for blues and rock.  It is ideally paired with a Gibson guitar and large (12”) speakers in a sealed cabinet, like a Marshall.  This is the introductory version of Expandora II released in 2001 that replaced the original Expandora. This newer version replaced the DIP switches on the original with controls on top to make it easier to change tones and also added some lower end. It is housed in a stainless steel case.

To access the 9V battery inside you have to unscrew a round thumb screw on the bottom far enough that the locking tines on the latch can be pushed inward releasing the lid (which also acts as the footswitch).

I bought this pedal new in 2001 from Musician’s Friend.  It has only been used by me, and only in a studio setting.  If you are into vintage equipment and sounds, this is a good tool for your arsenal.  I have installed a fresh battery and checked it out.  Works like new.
