RARE 1940's Western Electric 639A Ribbon/Dynamic Microphone - Awesome,works-HEAR

 Offering a rare and vintage 1940's Western Electric 639A Ribbon & Dynamic Microphone. These "Birdcage" mics mostly come up for sale as Altec, but it's Western Electric that first introduced them to the world in the late 1930's. So this 639 Western Electric represents the original/older and definitely rarer version.     This is a real beauty, physically restored but 100% original inside...even the ribbon itself is the one that came from the factory. (See final photo.) This is an elaborate, studio-quality microphone of legendary status, which includes both moving-coil dynamic and ribbon velocity elements. You have 3 options via a switch on the back; 

• Combo ribbon and dynamic
• Ribbon only, 
• Dynamic only

...and this mic tests great on all 3 options. (Check the voice sample on the listing video.) Physically it is awesome, NO bent or broken ribs (as these mics can often have), the original screen cloth has no rips or tears, and the chromed Western Electric badge glimmers proudly up front. This 639A has the original support yoke as well. Our offering includes a short adapter cable, older 3 pin Amphenol to male XLR plug, plus the heavily-weighted desk stand base.
