HOLY GRAIL!! 1938-1940 Slingerland Radio King Gene Krupa Deluxe Solid Shell Snare Drum. I bought this drum as a restoration project. One of the lugs was broken. I bought a period correct lug to replace it. I also added the period correct muffler, and found the custom washers they used with their name stamped into them. Drum has been drilled and filled for the strainer and butt assembly that was put on (See photos). Double flange hoops with the Slingerland Radio King engraving are original along with the lugs and 15 out of 16 tension rods. There are two spots on the batter side where the reinforcement hoop has separated from the solid shell. I have done my best to document these. Glue and clamps will fix it. I am including the broken lug (still has receivers) and a period correct Cloud Badge that I was going to replace the worn one with. Snare beds are clean. Drum ships with a Remo Skyntone batter head. Please excuse the artwork on the snare side head. My daughter drew on it (not while on the drum) and it was the only one I had that would fit. Drum tunes up easily and plays like a dream. ☁️
