Greco EG-600 Les Paul Custom "Black Beauty" 3PU, Made in Japan 1977 – Black

An increasingly hard-to-find vintage Japanese Black Beauty from Greco's legendary late-'70s golden era.

This 1978 EG-600 has everything people love about vintage Grecos: three original Maxon pickups, a comfortable broken-in feel, and the rich, open tone that helped establish Greco as one of Japan's finest guitar builders. Whether you're after classic rock, blues, fusion, or simply want a piece of vintage Japanese guitar history, this one delivers.

The original Maxon pickups are all still in place with their matching serial number stickers. The electronics have been upgraded with VIPots (Vintage Inspired) potentiometers for smooth, reliable operation while preserving the guitar's original voice. The original tuners have been replaced with Grover tuners for improved tuning stability. All modifications were carried out by the previous owner.

Cosmetically, this is an honest vintage player's guitar with nearly 50 years of natural wear - scratches, dings, finish wear, and buckle rash that give it the kind of character you simply can't fake. It currently wears black pickup rings, has no pickguard installed, and the middle pickup is left uncovered, giving it a unique vintage player look.

The neck feels fantastic, and the frets are in good condition with even wear and plenty of life remaining. There are no dead spots or playability issues.

The guitar has been professionally cleaned and set up, including a lemon oil fretboard treatment, fret polish, pickup height adjustment, action set to 2.3 mm on the low E at the 12th fret, and a fresh set of D'Addario XL 10–46 strings.

Vintage Grecos continue to become harder to find every year, especially original triple-pickup Black Beauties like this one. If you've been looking for a real late-'70s Japanese Les Paul Custom with incredible tone and undeniable vintage mojo, this is a fantastic example.
