The AEA 1029 Stereo VCA Compressor is designed to pair well with the TRP and RPQ series preamps and is the perfect addition to any studio.
Don't let its size fool you, the 1029 is a full-featured compressor that packs a punch. With 3 Position Sensing Time (Peak Fast, Slow, and RMS) and a variable ratio from 1:1 – Limit, the 1029 can go from subtle to extreme as you see fit. With a proprietary discreet op-amp design by Fred Forssell the AEA 1029 utilizes two THAT 4305 VCA chips run off of a single RMS detector being fed by the summed input signals. This product was primarily designed for the recording and/or mixing of stereo microphones. The 1029’s combination of VCAs configured in a feed-forward topology, Fred Forssell discrete op-amps featuring a complementary pair of new old stock Toshiba JFETs, and ultra-low noise, low-distortion op-amps create an extremely powerful and useful tool in a compact unit.
