The Clavia Nord was one one of the first synthesizers who pioneered the term "virtual analog synthesizer". This unit has directly accessible controls - no menu diving for controls or sounds!

Using Virtual Sound Modeling technology the intricate nuances and character of analog synth sounds are beautifully recreated on this amazingly flexible synth.

This synth is polyphonic and multitimbral, it has a very flexible filter, LFO and Envelope control, portamento/legato, a great arpeggiator and analog-like dedicated knobs for quick and easy synthesizing!

Everything is controllable via MIDI.

This synth is well-known for its novel 'morphing' feature.

A performance mode allows certain parameters to be stored with a sound such as unison or poly modes, legato and portamento.

This synth is currently in use by lots of artists including Ken Ishii, The Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, Cirrus, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Deftones, Mouse on Mars, Maroon 5, Dr. Dre, Laurent Garnier, ATB, The Prodigy, Autechre, Astral Projection, Boom Boom Satellites, Fluke, Front Line Assembly, KMFDM and Underworld.

This unit has been professionally upgraded:

1) Final firmware version 2.7 installed.

2) Clavia Nord Expansion card with PCMCIA Card slot was professionally installed. (The pictured PCMCIA card is for display purposes only and is not included).

Description of added Expansion card features:

The Voice Expansion Board adds another 8 voices running on 2 DSPs for a total of 12 voices.

The board also features a PCMCIA card holder, making it possible to store 297 single patches, 100 performances, and 30 percussion patches on a 64 kByte battery backed SRAM card.

3) This unit was originally a 110v USA production model. It was serviced and converted to 220V when it was moved to Europe. This change is easily reversible. The original power cable remains as a USA "Edison" plug. This was done so that plug adapters can be easily fit instead of rewiring the cable.
