Vintage Italian Argentini 32-Channel Analog Console – Late 1970s – Photovox Transformers – Inductor EQ – Bantam Patchbay – All Siemens Connectors Included

Proper high-quality photos are coming as soon as possible.

We have just decided to sell the analog console from our live room, mainly due to space requirements. Full detailed photos and additional technical information will follow shortly, but the desk is available now and we are pricing it very aggressively for a quick sale.

All Siemens connectors are included. These connectors are usually very hard to find, and having them included is a major advantage for anyone wanting to install, restore or integrate the desk properly.

A large amount of original cabling is also included.

This is a rare 32-channel vintage Italian console, built by Argentini, dating approximately from the late 1970s, likely between 1976 and 1979.

The sound is absolutely huge. Each channel features a very musical vintage equalizer, visually and conceptually close to the Trident A Range era, with a midrange section based on a Pultec-style circuit: Width, Gain, Boost/Cut and Frequency, with inductor-based design.

The master and echo sections also feature inductor EQ.

The console has Photovox input transformers. Photovox was the Italian company known for producing transformers for EIC Italy, and these transformers are a major part of the tone of the desk.

Main features:

32 input channels

Stereo echo return

6 stereo master buses

Very complete control-room module

Interesting matrix section

Inductor EQ on the master and echo sections

Original Bantam patchbay included

All Siemens connectors included

A large amount of original cabling included

Beautiful heavy iron stand on wheels

Two AudioScope 4U rack modules included

We have regularly used the first 18 channels in our live room with no issues. Channels 19 to 32 have been tested with a signal generator and are working, but they have not been part of our regular studio workflow. For a serious buyer, we can perform additional checks on those channels if required.

The stand is very solid, made of iron, and mounted on wheels. We believe the console may have been used in RAI television studios in Rome, where it was likely moved between TV studios for live broadcast work.

Approximate dimensions:

Width: 226 cm

Depth: 87 cm

Height: 78 cm

The console has a comfortable working angle.

The sale also includes the two AudioScope 4U rack modules. Their integration with the console still needs to be completed. We bought the desk this way and have used it this way; since visual monitoring of all signals was not a priority in our workflow, we never had the need or the time to finish checking and completing that part.

The AudioScope section is included, but its final wiring/integration should be completed by the buyer if they want to use it for full signal monitoring.

The two AudioScope modules are essentially included for free in the sale.

This is a serious vintage console with a very special sound, being sold quickly only because we need the space.
