The Fender Coronado is one of the most unique and fascinating designs ever produced by Fender. Designed by Roger Rossmeisl, it was born in the second half of the 1960s with the aim of entering the world of hollow-body and semi-acoustic guitars, which were increasingly in demand thanks to the great success of iconic instruments like the Epiphone Casino, also made famous by its use by the Beatles. Produced between 1966 and 1972 in various versions, the Coronado range included the Coronado I, the Coronado II, and the twelve-string Coronado XII. This example is a 1967 Fender Coronado II, a guitar that perfectly represents Fender's experimental spirit of those years. The instrument features a maple body, paired with a rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5" radius and 21 frets, for comfortable and immediate playability. The electronics are equipped with its original Fender Coronado pickups, controlled by a 3-way selector, capable of delivering an open, bright and richly personalized tone.
