The MXR JHMS3 Uni-Vibe Mini is a special-edition chorus/vibrato pedal from the Authentic Hendrix ’68 Shrine Series, combining classic Uni-Vibe modulation with a compact MXR mini housing. It produces the deep, swirling and pulsating modulation associated with vintage Uni-Vibe effects, ranging from slow, spacious movement to faster psychedelic textures.

Three controls provide straightforward adjustment of Speed, Level and Depth, while the Vibe switch changes between chorus and vibrato modes. Chorus mode delivers the characteristic sweeping, three-dimensional Uni-Vibe sound, while Vibe mode creates a more pronounced pitch-modulated effect. The sweep rate ranges from 0.5 Hz to 10.5 Hz, giving the pedal plenty of flexibility for subtle movement as well as intense modulation.

The JHMS3 pays tribute to Jimi Hendrix, who used a vintage Shin-ei Uni-Vibe from 1969 to 1970, with sounds of this type strongly associated with his Band of Gypsys period. Its distinctive finish is based on John Van Hamersveld’s artwork for Hendrix’s famous 1968 Shrine Auditorium concert poster, remixed for the series by Simon Berndt.

The pedal features true hardwire bypass and runs on 9V DC power with a low 5 mA current draw. It cannot be powered by a battery, and a power supply is not included.
