Beautiful 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard in the uncommon Root Beer finish, preserved in excellent condition and completely original.
This particular guitar features an exceptionally attractive and highly figured maple top, with strong three-dimensional flame depending on the viewing angle. Its appearance is comparable to the Plus/Premium Plus selections offered during the same period; however, since the original Gibson specification sheet is no longer available, it is conservatively listed as a Les Paul Standard.
Built in Nashville on July 29, 2005, it belongs to the pre-chambered era and features Gibson’s traditional nine-hole weight-relieved mahogany body, a carved figured maple top, a mahogany neck with the substantial ’50s profile and a rosewood fingerboard.
The guitar remains entirely original and unmodified:
- original Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickup
- untouched original electronics and solder joints
- original Gibson Deluxe Kluson-style tuners
- original Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar
- original hardware throughout
Weight: 4.2 kg / approximately 9lbs 4oz
It has recently received a professional setup by a luthier in the Pisa area and is currently fitted with .010gauge strings. The action is low and comfortable, with excellent overall playability and nearly pristine frets. The neck, truss rod and electronics operate exactly as they should.
Condition is excellent for a guitar over twenty years old. There are no breaks, repairs, structural issues or modifications. Only a few very small superficial playwear marks are present, all clearly documented in the pictures. Some parts are starting to be nicely aged: there's a gentle patina on pickup covers, bridge and tailpiece, while the nitro has started checking on the front of the headstock revealing the decal in a really cool way (see pictures as well).
The guitar comes with its original period-correct black Gibson USA hardshell case, keys, Gibson owner’s manual and the original uninstalled pickguard (no holes on the top); the original inspection checklist is missing unfortunately. The case is in excellent overall condition: the handle shows normal cosmetic ageing but remains secure and fully functional.
