Here for sale we have a Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin hollow body archtop electric guitar in Cognac Burst finish. Made in Canada, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Canadian Wild Cherry hollow body with arched top and back, Silver Leaf Maple neck and 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Chrome hardware including Godin trapeze-style tailpiece and Godin sealed tuning machines. Just one Godin P90 single-coil pickup is installed in the neck position, and is wired to master volume and tone controls. The Silver Leaf Maple neck plays very well, with a profile that feels nicely rounded in the hand and moderately slim for articulate lines and jazzy changes, whilst the Satin finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 24.84" scale. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 16" radius provides a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register, facilitating speedy lines and string bending. The hollow body ensures a lively and responsive playing experience, whilst the arched top and back enhance comfort when playing for extended periods. The voice of the instrument is open and airy thanks to its hollow body construction. The body resonates beautifully, and provides a wide dynamic range that feels sensitive to the player's touch. The single P-90 pickup installed provides an excellent platform for sculpting your sound. Crystal clear tones can be dialled in easily, whilst the pickup has plenty of output for crunchy sounds too. The controls are very responsive, allowing you to roll down the tone pot for those dark, mellow jazz lead lines. A well made and surprisingly versatile jazzer. The front face demonstrates light to mild scratching, most notably at the centre through the "5th avenue" logo. The edges and corners of the front and rear face demonstrate light indentations throughout. A small indentation is apparent to the treble side cutaway.Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard demonstrates light scratching, only visible under direct light and close scrutiny. The rear of the neck demonstrate light fading of the finish and light indentations that cannot be felt by the hand in playing position.Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching and indentations. The front face demonstrates an indentation to the binding at the bass side shoulder. The rear face demonstrates a small chip to the finish at the treble side lower bout, with similar markings to the lower bout sides, and where the forearm rests. These markings have removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath.Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional but stiff to operate.
