To me, this is one of the coolest finishes Gibson has offered on a Gibson SG, particularly the '61 style, in many years. The blue pain is almost translucent in spots, and you can see the mahogany wood grain through itEverything on this guitar appears to be original, and this guitar is in excellent condition. It barely looks played, and it still has the protective film left on the pickguard and tenon cover. There are very few minor dings, dents and faint finish scratches on it - mainly on the back of the guitar, where it's solid gloss black. Other than that, this guitar is in excellent condition. All of the original nickel hardware looks great with virtually no tarnish or corrosion, with lots of shine left to it, and everything works as expected. The neck has a thin, flat and wide "D" shape carve, what Gibson calls "SlimTaper" coming in at 20.5mm at the 1st fret and only making it up to 23.2mm by the 12th fret. If you like thin and wide necks, you'll love this one.The 22 medium jumbo frets that have barely been played, and there is almost no fret wear across the board, and this guitar plays excellent up and down the entire neck. The original nickel covered Gibson 60s Burstbucker pickups sound fantastic to my ears, especially in an SG. To me, these have more low end and lower mids than the Gibson '57 Classic, while still retaining top end clarity. They are open and articulate, and have a lot of mids and warmth to them without being shrill or brittle. They nail that SG sound, and can handle classic rock and metal, but also clean up really well when you roll down the volume. All the guitars I sell, I test, thoroughly clean, and setup completely before I list them. Anything that is missing, damaged, or non original is mentioned in the listing.I setup all my Gibson style guitars to Gibson factory specs - including neck relief, action, pickup height, intonation, and tailpiece height. So this guitar will be ready to play out of the box (after you tune it up - I ship my guitars with the strings loosened).Comes with the original Gibson USA hardshell case with pink plus interior and key lock (keys included). The case is in good shape, with a couple nicks in the leather/vinyl covering here and there, and all of the latches and hinges are in tact and function properly. Also comes with the original Gibson multi tool, the Gibson strap, polishing cloth, hang tags, user instrument safety manual.Overall, this is an incredible looking, playing and sounding SG - you'll want this SG in your collection today.CONDITION ------------Overall it's in excellent player grade shape.I've tried to capture all of the flaws in the photos and in the description.Over the entire body of the guitar, top, back, sides, neck and headstock, there are very few minor dings, dents, swirling, and fine scratches . The majority is along the back of the body, and the back of the headstock, but there's not much. There's some minor buckle rash on the back of the body. The nickel hardware, bridge, tailpiece, tuners, and screws are all in great shape, with virtually no signs of corrosion, pitting, scratches, and/or rust. Everything works as expected, and there is lots of shine left on this hardware. All of the black plastics are in tact and in great shape. The pickguard and tenon cover still have the protective plastic film on them. All of the original Nickel Gibson Deluxe tuners are straight and work as expected. The 22 medium jumbo frets have barely been played, and the frets have nearly the full life left in them. The truss rod works as expected with room in both directions. There no signs of a headstock, heel or any other repairs.SHIPPING ------------ Every shipment is expertly packed with great care and includes tracking, signature required on delivery, and full insurance coverage for both the purchase price and shipping.Every guitar is fully wrapped in bubble wrap, in a cardboard box meant for guitars, with proper support inside.
