If you're looking for a fretless electric bass at an affordable price, ESP LTD’s B-204 SM Fretless is a great option—especially for prog rock (think Mars Volta and Tool) and other genres requiring dynamic playing. The B-204 SM has 24 visible fret indicators for finding the correct pitch but allows bassists to move up and down the neck with ease. For electronics, the B-204 SM comes with passive ESP-designed SB-4 pickups as well as an active ABQ-3 EQ section. Made of an ash body with a spalted maple top, the guitar features distinctive grain patterns and coloration and is available in a natural satin finish.
