Early (March) ‘66 Jazzmaster which had a professional set-up by a local luthier recently.
She is combat-ready and is used a lot on stage. However, some things are worth noting:
- Refinished in nitro Ocean Turquoise a long time ago.
- The binding has gone, presumably when she had a refret some time ago. Frets still are in a very good condition.
- Somebody had additional tuners installed, the holes were tidily filled up, instrument stable.
- Two pots gave up and were replaced. Plastic knobs are from 1963.
- A Mustang bridge is installed, original bridge is included.
The original grey bobbin pickups deliver an unmistakable tone (moderate output, chimey trebles, scooped midrange), which you won’t find with modern instruments. They really sound fantastic.
Neck is straight, smooth and fast, plays without any issues. Weighs 3.6 kg.
Comes in a Fender hard case.
