Fender Made in Japan Limited Starmaster — 2025 — Jupiter Blue
The Starmaster is a brand new design from Fender Japan, introduced as a limited 2025 production run. It takes the Starcaster headstock — the stepped, bi-level design from Fender's short-lived 1970s semi-hollow — and pairs it with the offset body silhouette of the Jazzmaster. The two-tone colour coding of the headstock is echoed in the elbow contour of the body, tying the design together visually in a way that feels considered rather than arbitrary. The result is a guitar that draws from two distinct points in Fender history while looking like neither.
The body is semi-hollow alder, fitted with two vintage-style Jazzmaster single-coil pickups and the full Jazzmaster wiring setup — separate lead and rhythm circuits, floating tremolo tailpiece, and the characteristic slide switch to toggle between them. The satin-finished maple neck carries a modern C profile and bone nut, with a rosewood fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets.
