The LG2 boasts a small body, yet a big, rich sound! Introduced in 1942 during the "Banner" era, the Gibson LG2 quickly became a popular small-bodied acoustic guitar known for its powerful sound. Initially released with mahogany back and sides and a red spruce top, the LG2 was often substituted due to wartime shortages. Gibson sometimes used maple back and sides, and LG2 models with a mahogany top were also produced.

Now, Gibson proudly introduces the new LG2 All-Mahogany Faded, a modern reinterpretation of the all-mahogany vintage LG2 models. The LG2 All Mahogany Faded features solid mahogany for the back and sides, as well as a solid mahogany soundboard. The mahogany top is braced with traditional scalloped X-bracing, and the body features simple black binding on the top and back.

The mahogany neck has a historic Rounded profile and is joined to the body with a compound dovetail joint. The neck is topped with an unbound rosewood fingerboard with 20 standard frets and stylish yet simple pearloid dot inlays. The LG2 All Mahogany Faded features a beveled, rectangular, closed-groove bridge crafted from rosewood. The bridge has a bone nut, also crafted from bone, and TUSQ bridge pins. Grover tuners with white buttons provide solid tuning stability and, along with the teardrop-shaped pickguard, contribute to the instrument's vintage charm.

The LG2 All Mahogany Faded's all-mahogany top and body give it a warmer, rounder, and smoother sound than a similarly sized spruce-top guitar, making it an ideal choice for folk, blues, and fingerstyle playing. The LG2 All Mahogany Faded's smaller size also makes it easier to hold than larger-bodied acoustic guitars. Addressing the needs of modern performers and recording artists, the LG2 All Mahogany Faded comes standard with an L.R. Baggs VTC transducer under the saddles and a built-in preamp. The L.R. Baggs VTC system features volume and tone controls in the soundhole, which are quickly and easily accessible to the guitarist yet virtually invisible to the audience. The high-quality, discrete electronics make the LG2 All Mahogany Faded ready for stage and studio from the moment you take it out of the included Gibson case, without compromising its attractive, vintage-inspired character and vibe.

Whether you're looking for a guitar for fingerpicking on the couch, performing at blues or folk festivals, or adding a new and unique tone to your recording arsenal, the LG2 All Mahogany Faded should be on your "must-have" list!
