A truly special Les Paul Custom, crafted with handpicked tonewoods selected during a visit to the Gibson Custom Shop Factory!
The dazzling “Aqua Blue” finish is reminiscent of a vibrant tropical ocean, and the abalone inlays on the Richlite fingerboard enhance its exotic marine theme — this guitar is a true “Ocean Story.”
Stunning Top with a Moving Wave-Like Figure
Let’s start with the top — a perfectly figured maple top with graceful, flowing flames that ripple across the body like gentle waves.
When viewed from the control knob side, with your left hand supporting the body and your right hand on the neck, the top reveals its best angle — rich, undulating figuring that shifts with the light, beautifully complementing the deep Aqua Blue finish. It’s a breathtaking sight that calls to mind the ever-changing hues of a tropical sea.
Organic Beauty in the Details
In line with the oceanic theme, the sleek black Richlite fingerboard features abalone position markers. Their natural, iridescent shimmer varies from fret to fret, adding a touch of organic beauty that matches perfectly with the ocean-inspired color and striking top. This thoughtful design choice reflects Gibson Custom’s playful creativity and attention to detail.
Depth from Shoreline to Deep Sea
The sides and back are finished in a transparent, dark blue hue that contrasts beautifully against the crisp white binding. This contrast evokes an image of a beach gently fading into mysterious deep waters — a visual journey captured in a single guitar.
Vintage-Inspired Voice with a Bold Twist
Unlike the standard 490R & 498T pickups usually found on Customs, this model features a pair of open-coil zebra Burstbucker 2 & 3 pickups, chosen for their vintage-voiced character. The result? A unique presence and bold visual identity that sets it apart from other Les Paul Customs.
Sonically, it delivers the rich low-end depth expected from a Custom, but the Burstbuckers add clarity, edge, and punch — a standout tone with vintage soul and modern articulation.
A Rare Beauty with Unmatched Value
This is a rare piece where hand-selected materials, stunning aesthetics, and Custom Shop craftsmanship all come together — at a price point that’s surprisingly accessible.
With very limited quantities produced, and this particular one boasting one of the most beautiful tops in the batch, don't miss your chance. If you just thought, "Whoa, what is this?" — trust that instinct and act fast!
