Komet 60 Mark Knopfler 2024 - Red tolex
Identical reproduction of the Komet 60 used by Mark in the early 2000s. Special order via Hogy, the founder of Komet.
The Komet workshops had remains of tubes identical to those used to make Mark's amp (see lives in 2006 with Emmylou Harris). The voicing of the lamp is exactly identical to Mark's. There will be no other built, it is an absolutely unique piece in the world except those held by Mark himself.
Mark had asked Komet for a different tone, richer and softer than the original Komet 60, with tones more typical blues than "hardrock".
No need to make tons of it, the amp is simply spectacular, and works very well with a Fryette Powerstation. Mark at the time, and even live, used an airbrake from the brand to calm the volume a little.
