The Roland RD-88 is an 88-key stage piano built around Roland's ZEN-Core sound engine, delivering SuperNATURAL Piano and SuperNATURAL E.Piano modelling alongside ZEN-Core synthesis for non-piano sounds - a library spanning over 3,000 tones and 400 scenes. The keybed uses PHA-4 Standard weighted hammer action with escapement and ivory feel, giving a realistic acoustic piano response under the fingers. Three configurable performance zones allow internal sounds to be layered or split, with Apple MainStage soft-synth integration also supported. Connectivity covers balanced line outputs, a mic input, stereo line input, 5-pin MIDI out, multiple pedal jacks, and a USB port handling both MIDI and audio - making it equally at home on stage or in a studio setup.
