The Universal Audio Apollo Twin MkII is a compact yet powerful audio interface designed to bring the sound and workflow of a professional recording studio to your desktop. Featuring high-quality 24-bit/192 kHz A/D and D/A conversion, two Unison-enabled microphone preamps, and onboard UAD-2 SOLO Core processing, it delivers excellent sound quality and access to Universal Audio’s renowned analog hardware emulations.At the heart of the Apollo Twin MkII is Unison technology, which allows its microphone preamps to reproduce the characteristics of classic analog designs from Neve, API, Manley, and Universal Audio. By adjusting input impedance, gain staging, and circuit behaviour to match the original hardware, Unison goes beyond conventional software emulation. The front-panel Hi-Z instrument input also supports Unison technology, allowing guitarists and bassists to record through compatible amplifier emulations from Fender, Marshall, Ampeg, and more.The integrated UAD-2 SOLO Core DSP enables real-time processing through UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, independently of the computer’s processing resources. This makes it possible to record vocals and instruments through classic compressors, EQs, preamps, and effects while monitoring the processed signal in real time.Apollo Twin MkII also offers flexible connectivity, including two analog inputs, dedicated monitor and line outputs, a headphone output, and an optical input for expanding the available recording channels.
