Up for sale is a legendary piece of British amplification history: a stunning Matamp GT100, bearing the serial number #627 dating this to 1974.

If you are looking for that ultimate, earth-shaking vintage tone with endless headroom and that unmistakable green-era character, this masterbuilt tube monster delivers it in spades. This is the definition of a "holy grail amp" for stoner rock, doom, blues, and classic rock enthusiasts.

Specifications:

  • Brand: Matamp
  • Model: GT100
  • Serial Number: #627
  • Type: All-Tube Guitar Amplifier Head
  • Country of Origin: Handwired in England

Condition & Service History:  The amplifier is in great functional and cosmetic condition for its age. It has been treated with the respect a boutique vintage amp deserves.

To ensure absolute reliability, the amp has been professionally inspected and serviced at some point and a few capacitors were replaced. These are standard wear-and-tear parts on vintage tube amplifiers that naturally degrade over time. The replacement ensures that the amp runs perfectly stable, safely, and sounds exactly as rich and powerful as it did the day it left the workshop. The tubes (EL34 / ECC83) are healthy with plenty of life left, and all pots and switches work. I

Original Transformers (With Factory Inspection Tags): > For the serious vintage collector, this is the holy grail: All three transformers (Power, Output, and Choke) are 100% original to this amp.

Even better, all three units still carry their original, decades-old paper factory inspection labels straight from England, showing the handwriting and checkmarks from the final quality control:

  • Power / Output Transformers: Factory stamped Type M184-2 and Type M154 with full signature checks.
  • Choke / Drosselspole: Factory stamped Type M596 with final check initials.

This original iron is the sole reason why this GT100 possesses that monumental, authentic British vintage punch, massive low-end stability, and unmistakable organic sag. You cannot replicate this sound with modern replacement transformers!

Flightcase included.
