The Atlantix is the highly anticipated successor to the Intellijel Atlantis and is also inspired by the classic Roland SH-101.

The SH-101 is known for its versatile sonic possibilities despite its simple architecture and has served as an inspiration to many artists. The Atlantix continues this legacy while offering advanced features and flexible patching for even more sonic possibilities.

It is an analog subtractive synthesizer voice in a 42HP module designed for flexibility and practical usability, featuring two VCOs, VCF, VCA, S&H, white and pink noise, and an analog envelope. Key features include a cascaded 4-pole multimode filter (lowpass, bandpass, highpass and phaser), a through-zero-VCO, a sub-oscillator, noise, a six-channel mixer with some clever normalization and the versatile MOD X and MOD Y modulation busses. These are operated with two eight-stage rotary switches that select from eight modulation sources. The selected signal is routed to the corresponding output sockets, and the signals can be further processed with polarity switches and their level can be switched between unipolar and bipolar.

The oscillator section features two triangle-core VCOs and flexible mixing options. VCO A is the main oscillator, offering thru-zero FM, and VCO B can be used as a second audio oscillator, modulator for VCO A or as an LFO. The mixer allows you to mix different waveforms from VCO A and VCO B, noise and external signals.

The filter section offers several filter modes - low-pass, band-pass, high-pass and phaser, i.e. a multi-notch filter. The filter can self-oscillate, which produces a very clean sine wave that also tracks 1V/oct. The analog ADSR envelope has three time ranges and can be triggered externally or manually. The final VCA can optionally be routed into two distortion circuits to create richer, more aggressive sounds.

All in all, a very complete synthesizer that has the potential to earn just as much praise as its predecessor, the Atlantis. However, anyone missing something in the Atlantix's features should take a look at the expander Atlx. It adds 16 additional sockets to the Atlantix, including dedicated waveform outputs for oscillators A and B, filter outputs and a ring modulator.
