The NEEWER BASICS SL50 RGB light stick is a versatile LED tube light for photography, video recording, streaming, content creation and decorative lighting applications. Measuring approximately 53.5 cm in length, the light stick offers a significantly larger illuminated area than compact handheld lights, making it suitable both as a main or accent light and for adding colour to backgrounds and sets.

With a power output of 14 watts, the SL50 achieves an illuminance of up to 840 lux at a distance of 0.5 metres. The high CRI value of 95 ensures natural and reliable colour rendering, making the light bar ideal for photography and video production where skin tones, products and surfaces need to be reproduced as realistically as possible.

In CCT mode, three fixed colour temperatures are available. 2,700 Kelvin produces a warm, atmospheric light; 4,000 Kelvin provides a neutral lighting effect; and 6,500 Kelvin is suitable for a cooler, daylight-like appearance. This allows the NEEWER BASICS SL50 to be quickly adapted to different shooting situations. For example, it can be used as warm mood lighting in the background, as a neutral complement to existing room lighting, or as cool effect lighting.

For creative lighting designs, the SL50 offers a total of 51 RGB and effect programmes. Of these , 15 are static RGB colours and 36 are dynamic RGB effects.

The static colours are suitable, for example, for colour-coordinating backgrounds, product staging or as accent lighting for portrait and video shoots. The dynamic programmes, on the other hand, enable changing and dynamic lighting moods, which are particularly interesting for music videos, social media clips, parties or event applications.

The dynamic effects also include three sound-reactive modes. These respond to music or other ambient sounds and adjust the lighting effects accordingly. This makes it easy to create rhythmic and dynamic lighting atmospheres with minimal effort.

For portable use, the NEEWER BASICS SL50 features a built-in 3.7 V lithium battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh (14.8 Wh). According to the manufacturer, the battery provides up to 105 minutes of runtime at maximum brightness.

Charging is via USB-C. The package includes a USB-A-to-USB-C cable, so the light can be charged using USB power adaptors, laptops or portable power banks, amongst other things. This makes the SL50 particularly suitable for mobile photo and video productions, as well as for use outside a studio.

The SL50 can be used either handheld or mounted securely. Integrated magnets allow for quick attachment to suitable metal surfaces. This enables even unusual lighting positions to be achieved, for example from the side, above a subject or close to the ground.

In addition, there are 1/4" threaded sockets at both ends of the light rod. These allow the SL50 to be attached to tripods, lighting stands, articulated arms and other standard photography and video accessories. It is also possible to use multiple light rods, for example for larger sets, event lighting or symmetrical lighting set-ups.

With dimensions of 535 x 44 x 44 mm and a weight of around 370 grams, the NEEWER BASICS SL50 remains easy to transport despite its length. Its elongated design also makes it particularly suitable for light painting and dynamic movements during long-exposure photography.
