The DRV sits between a vintage overdrive and a classic distortion inspired by the very famous ProCo Rat, with a highly musical texture reminiscent of the early modified Rat circuits, but optimized for greater clarity and dynamics. The sound is broad, gritty, and organic, with just the right amount of compressed grain to cut through the mix without becoming harsh. It responds beautifully to the guitar's volume knob, allowing you to go from an expressive light crunch to a powerful, round distortion. It also fits superbly into an ambient post-rock board. Its circuit is designed to offer a linear, natural response, regardless of the gain level.
