This Taylor K14ce Builders Edition from 2018 is a Grand Auditorium that pairs a torrefied spruce top with beautifully figured Hawaiian koa back and sides. It was designed entirely around comfort and playability, with a beveled armrest and rolled edges that make it a genuine pleasure to hold and play.

The Builders Edition line marked a turning point for Taylor. Launched in 2018, the K14ce was the model that introduced master luthier Andy Powers' V-Class bracing to the world, a completely new internal architecture that replaced traditional X-bracing to deliver more volume, longer sustain and improved intonation right up the neck. The "K" in its name points to the Hawaiian koa used for the body, a tonewood Taylor has long championed for the way it sits between the warmth of mahogany and the clarity of rosewood.

Every detail here is built around the player. The beveled armrest, chamfered body edges and rolled fingerboard make long sessions effortless, while the silent satin finish feels wonderfully natural under the arm and hand. Tonally, the koa gives a focused, punchy midrange that opens up and sweetens the more it is played, and the V-Class bracing lends real projection and a piano-like sustain. Add the Gotoh 510 tuners and the onboard Expression System 2 pickup, and you have a guitar that is as ready for the stage as it is for the sofa.

You will barely find any playwear on this clean guitar. A couple tiny dings, mostly on the edge of the back of the body, make the condition excellent, but it also still comes close to near mint.
