I am offering a Marshall JVM410HJS head from 2012, a manufactured in Bletchley, Milton Keynes (England), Joe Satriani Signature head featuring powerful 100 watts in a tube design (preamp tubes: 5x ECC 83; power tubes: 4x EL34) with four-channel layout (Clean, Crunch, OD1, OD2), individual three-band tone controls as well as Gain & Volume for each channel, 12 presets selectable via footswitch or MIDI, 2 switchable and programmable master volume controls, programmable parallel effects loop with hardware bypass, 4 noise gates, Mid Shift for OD1 & OD2, serial insert loop with hardware bypass circuit, Emulated DI Out, MIDI IN, and MIDI THRU in the classic Marshall design with black Tolex and gold piping in excellent collector’s condition, including manufacturer’s paperwork, footswitch, and dust cover.
The JVM410HJS was developed through a collaboration between Marshall and the exceptional American guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani and is based on the incredibly versatile JVM410H. However, the design was comprehensively revised and sonically retuned to meet Satriani’s requirements. The result is not merely a visually customized signature model, but a distinct variant of the JVM platform that stands out in particular for its revised gain structures, four integrated noise gates, and features that differ from the standard JVM. Thus, the HJS combines the classic British Marshall character with the flexibility of a modern, fully stage-ready multi-channel amplifier.
At the heart of the amplifier is the classic 100-watt all-tube power amp with four EL34 tubes, while five ECC83 tubes make up the preamp section. The result is the typical powerful Marshall tone with tight bass, prominent mids, and an exceptionally dynamic response. From crystal-clear clean tones to open vintage crunch and compressed, sustain-rich high-gain sounds, the JVM410HJS covers an exceptionally wide tonal spectrum, making it equally suitable for blues, classic rock, hard rock, progressive rock, and modern high-gain styles.
The four channels—Clean, Crunch, OD1, and OD2—each feature three different modes, providing a total of twelve directly selectable basic sounds. Each channel has its own gain and volume controls as well as a separate 3-band EQ. This offers tremendous flexibility, especially when performing live: a wide variety of sounds can be preset and instantly recalled using the included programmable footswitch or via MIDI. The two master volume controls also allow, for example, an instant volume boost for solo passages without having to alter the actual channel sound.
A special feature of the Joe Satriani version is the four individually adjustable noise gates, which replace the reverb normally found on the JVM. This allows for exceptionally controlled and precise use of heavily distorted sounds in particular. In addition, OD1 and OD2 feature a Mid-Shift function that allows you to adjust the midrange characteristics and tune the amplifier from classic Marshall voicings to more modern, aggressive high-gain sounds.
Furthermore, in addition to a programmable parallel effects loop with hardware bypass, an additional serial insert loop is available. The Emulated Line/DI Out allows for the direct output of a speaker-simulated signal, while the integrated MIDI interface enables integration into complex live and rack setups. This makes the head ideal for both classic amp/cabinet setups and extensive professional stage rigs.
A sound sample of the model can be found at the top of the photo gallery.
Visually, the JVM410HJS remains unmistakably Marshall: black Tolex covering, gold control panels, and the characteristic gold piping give the head its classic British look. Combined with its extensive features and the rare Joe Satriani specification, the JVM410HJS is a particularly interesting variant of the JVM series—not just for collectors.

The Marshall JVM410HJS Joe Satriani is no longer manufactured in this configuration.
The amp is in excellent, extremely well-maintained collector’s condition and works flawlessly. It has very low hours of use (just a few hours in total) and comes from a first-hand collector. Visually, it shows virtually no visible wear (see photos).
The amplifier has been thoroughly tested, and I (a longtime guitar teacher) will ship it, upon request, insured via DHL for €39.99 within Germany or via UPS for €129.99 within the EU. Shipping outside the EU is available upon request.
