As co-founder of the band Chic, three-time Grammy winner and through his collaboration on countless record-breaking albums with a total of 500 million copies sold worldwide, Nile Rodgers is clearly one of the most influential artists and producers of our time. For his innovative chop chord Style he has always relied on his affectionately named 'Hitmaker' Fender Stratocaster with hardtail configuration, whose sonic DNA is immortalized on numerous award-winning productions and soundtracks. To coincide with Nile's upcoming 70th birthday, Fender is now reissuing the Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster for fans and collectors with authentic specifications and loving details of the original.
Including Limited Edition Hardshell Case!
The basis of the Fender Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster is, like the original, the somewhat more compact 1960-style alder body with a resonant hardtail configuration and a one-piece 1959 Strat neck made of maple, which evokes the classic Strat feeling of the late fifties with its 9.5" radius and historically correct C-profile. The Nile Rodgers & Chic logo on the back of the headstock and the custom neckplate with Hitmaker engraving make this guitar an absolute collector's item.
In order to reproduce the characterful quack and twang of the original Hitmaker as accurately as possible, Fender winds three special Hitmaker Nile Rodgers single coils, which have been modeled as closely as possible on the tonal ideal of the original. The middle position has reversed polarity and winding in order to make the intermediate positions 2 and 4 of the 5-way switch sound hum-free.
Of course, the modified hardware equipment has also been faithfully recreated as part of the Fender Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster. A resonant hardtail bridge with string guide through the body and six individual steel string saddles are used, while six Sperzel tuners with locking functions ensure absolute tuning stability and discreet string changes. Furthermore, a chrome-plated brass pickguard and three easy-to-operate white speed knobs give the Hitmaker Strat its unique look.
