Gibson ES-335 2022 - Black Beauty

Beautiful 2022 Gibson ES-335 in black, upgraded with carefully selected parts to give it a more vintage-correct feel, improved hardware and a refined “Black Beauty” look.

At only 3.55 kg, the guitar is very resonant and surprisingly loud even unplugged. The tone is open, direct and airy, with plenty of clarity and sustain. I have compared it with several Gibson Custom Shop 335s, and this one absolutely holds its own.

A major part of what makes this guitar special is the upgrade package. It is fitted with Gibson Custombuckers with gold covers, along with a Faber lightweight aluminium tailpiece, locking studs and ABR-1 bridge conversion mounted directly into the wood. The tuners were changed to Kluson Deluxe Single Line Double Ring units for a more vintage-correct appearance.

Other upgrades include a Long Guard pickguard, professionally installed bone nut, gold Switchcraft USA toggle switch, gold Schaller Security Locks, and matching gold hardware details throughout.

The guitar was recently professionally set up by a luthier for the best possible playing experience, so it feels smooth, comfortable and ready to play.

The dark rosewood fingerboard together with the gold hardware gives the guitar a very elegant, understated Black Beauty appearance.

Condition is very good. There are a few small marks around the headstock which are shown in the photos, as well as the normal light surface marks you can expect on a high-gloss black finish. There are no deep scratches, breaks or structural issues, and the frets are in good condition.
