About This Model
The PRS HDRX 20 is a 20-watt all-tube head built around the "Authentic Hendrix" Touring Circuit - a faithful recreation of the late-1960s Marshall Super Lead that was modified specifically for Jimi Hendrix. The preamp runs three JJ ECC803S tubes feeding into a pair of Russian Tung-Sol 5881 power tubes, delivering that era's characteristic harmonic richness and dynamic response. Its two parallel Treble and Bass channels are internally bridged, and the head includes a Master Volume control - a feature unique to the HDRX 20 within the HDRX range - alongside a Bright switch for the Treble channel and a High-Mid Gain boost switch for added tonal flexibility. Five rear-panel speaker outputs (two 4-ohm, two 8-ohm, one 16-ohm) accommodate a wide range of cabinet configurations, and external bias adjustment points with monitoring jacks make maintenance straightforward.
