About this listing
The so-called "Smith Strat," produced for only a short time! A 1984 Fender USA Standard Stratocaster gBrown Sunbursth has just arrived! This is a two-knob Standard Stratocaster built toward the end of the CBS era?the so-called gDan Smith Era.h Featuring a small headstock, a four-point neck joint, an output jack mounted on the pickguard, and a Freeflyte tremolo system that terminates on the body top, this model is unique to the transitional period around 1983?1984. While it delivers the authentic Stratocaster sound with an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and SSS pickup configuration, its unique specifications?which differ from a standard Strat?are what make it so appealing. Combined with the understated look of the Brown Sunburst finish, this is a guitar that lets you enjoy the distinctive character of late-CBS Fender. Based on the neck date, we have determined this guitar was manufactured in 1984. Although the pot date was obscured by solder and could not be verified, the pots are believed to be original Japanese-made units that were standard at the time. Aside from the jack, nut, frets, and strap pins (a non-original tremolo arm is included), all other parts are believed to be original. Although there are some scattered dents, considering its age, it retains a nice sheen and is in clean condition.
