1960's Beyerdynamic M260 N Ribbon Microphone Beyer Dynamic M260-N M260N

The Beyerdynamic M260 N is an incredible and elegant microphone. A single ribbon design with major off axis rejection. That rejection makes it invaluable in loud environments, like well populated live rooms, around drum kits, or on noisy stages.

Compared with the later M260.80 microphones, this has more low end (becuase the .80 indicates a built in hi-pass element). This microphone has really natural big body. Clean as a whistle and clear as day. These are popular mono drum overheads, and popular guitar amp mics. I also love all of the cardioid Beyer ribbons as vocal mics (you’ll see the M500 used a lot back in the day).

This one sounds wonderful, original ribbon is operating at peak efficiency/without distortion. A big old Beyerdynamic ribbon shoot out was a lot of fun to conduct here at Sounds Lekker, and the low body of this mic really shines over (under?) a later M260 or a 70’s M500.
