Offered here is an exceptional 2008 Gibson Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue, featuring a beautifully figured maple top and a factory-aged finish by legendary Gibson finish specialist Tom Murphy.Produced during the 50th anniversary of the original 1958 Les Paul Standard, this limited and highly collectible R8 features historically inspired Custom Shop construction, a solid mahogany body and neck, carved figured maple top, rosewood fingerboard, covered humbuckers, ABR-1 bridge and lightweight-style stop-bar tailpiece.The professionally aged finish displays authentic-looking lacquer checking, softened edges, aged hardware and tasteful simulated play wear. These characteristics are intentional parts of the original Tom Murphy aging treatment and give the guitar the appearance and feel of a well-preserved vintage Les Paul.The guitar weighs a comfortable 9.30 pounds and has the substantial rounded neck profile associated with Gibson’s 1958 reissues. The nut width measures approximately 1.69 inches.It includes the distinctive “New Golden Age 50th Anniversary” commemorative pickguard. Serial number 8 8465.Please review all photographs carefully.
