I am the second owner of this amplifier. The first owner ordered it directly from Marsh with several custom modifications:
• power supply set to 220V;
• an added (full/half) switch on the rear panel;
• to expand the tonal options of the first (bass) channel, he asked a technician to solder a capacitor that cuts low frequencies, allowing the channel to be used with a guitar.
When I purchased the amplifier, the previous owner offered to remove this capacitor, but since I didn’t plan to use it for bass in the studio, I decided to keep the modification.
The wiring is done in the style of vintage or boutique amplifiers — point-to-point.
The cabinet is designed so that it can be used either as a closed-back or, by removing the center section of the rear panel, as a semi-open cabinet to achieve a more vintage tone.
It is loaded with two Jensen P12Q Alnico Vintage speakers, with a total impedance of 4 Ω.
