Two inches more for the same price! While the PD85 is a pure 8" pad, the PDX-8 is an 8" Pad with a wider outboard rim zone. Two inches in diameter have thus been added. RimShots are much more natural and comfortable to play. The trigger is now moved from the center to the edge, avoiding loud trigger strokes, which can occur in others Mesh pads occasionally in front of the trigger cushion (foam cones), and the significantly improved pad holder is softer, and the clamp works much better.
