One of the last Gibson Les Paul Customs made with the traditional specs, with a mahogany neck! In 1974/75 three piece maple necks were introduced on almost all Gibsons, changing their overall tone and response, in a way the making the "Norlin sound" although Norlin took over the ownership of Gibson already 1969/70. This did not go down well with some players, missing the warmth and body provided by the traditional mahogany neck design. So here is for quite a few players one of "the last good ones", at least until the early 80s, when Gibson resumed using Mahogany necks. Our guitar, originally white, has gone through a couple of incarnations but is now back with a more recent nice warm white finish. All hardware is changed from Gold to chrome/nickel and has the über cool Gibson/Schaller tuners, known as “The crank”, that has built in string winders🤤. It’s been recently refretted, so the frets look great. The guitar has been outfitted with slightly newer 70’s Gibson Pat No. humbuckers. This guitar has that fantastic slim 70’s Gibson neck that I love and it’s just a joy to play. Weight: 4.35kg Comes with a mid 70’s Gibson protector hardcase
